Marketing Director – B2B Conferences

Ideal Candidate…The ideal candidate must have proven experience in event campaign management for large, complex paid-for events, including digital knowledge and working with external agencies. You will project manage and deliver marketing plans and results-driven marketing campaigns across the event. The role covers all aspects of end-to-end campaign management including email; website; digital marketing; analysis; data selections and compliance, targeting and build; copywriting; design; social media and direct mail production.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Devise and implement an effective multichannel strategic campaign that attracts paying conference delegates, secures sponsors and produces clear qualified sales leads
- Full ownership for marketing budget, forecasting and spend
- Strong creative and design flair with the confidence and ability to brief and work with external designer to create visually engaging and responsive marketing collateral
- Create, communicate and deliver the event brand to the desired target markets and stakeholders
- Create and execute a social media plan across relevant platforms to expand brand reach and awareness and actively engage with the target audience
- Work with the content team to define audiences, write and create content plan to engage, segment and target prospects
- Identify, build and develop strong partnerships with key local and global media partners, associations and key influencers.
- Provide reporting of KPI and activity performance as required
- Fully manage and update the event website to ensure that it is compelling and monitor activity
- Excellent copy writing and verbal communication skills
- Build relationships with key event advocates including advisory board, sponsors and speakers for co-marketing of the event – create bespoke collatorel required to ensure the best experiences
Qualifications and experience
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in B2B content-led events marketing
- Demonstrable experience of delivering a large scale, content-led new launch event, ideally internationally
- Marketing degree or equivalent qualification
Skills and competencies
- Excellent communication skills: able to develop and maintain strong personal relationships with team members and external stakeholders, including media partners and sponsors
- Analytical and data focused
- Clear understanding (with examples) of marketing metrics and KPIs, testing, performance measurement and the application of basic marketing principles
- Delivering reactive and automated marketing campaigns
- Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritise
